Metalhead

I love Ironman! I love the comic. I love the figurines. And, I most definitely loved the movie! I know the story of Tony Stark being a drunken billionaire is intriguing and all, but just drawing him in uniform is satysfying enough for me.

It’s a G-G-G-G-G Ghost!

I’ve never been a fan of the Ghostrider comic, and I wasn’t a fan of the movie either. But he has got to be one of the coolest characters I’ve ever drawn. A magical motorcycle, a wiley chain with spikes, and a flaming skull! What more do you need?

So Lexy

I had fun drawing this even though I’ve never been a huge Superman fan. I have absolutely nothing against Supes, but I have at least ten other characters I’d love to work on more. However, being the icon that he is, I respectfully thought it was necessary to do up a sketch of him.

“Tank” you

This is just some random piece I doodled up while thinking of the Darkhorse book, Tank Girl.

Spruce Bruce

This is my Michael Plelps version of Batman. Shorter legs with a long torso. I did this doodle on a 4 x 6 postcard, and I sort of miscalculated the proportions. But it was fun to sketch regardless.

Say no to “Bubs”

Wolverine is one of my favorites to draw. His personality is half the reason. I’ve been collecting comic books for 20 years now, and I swear this character has always intrigued me. His unrevealed past and “take no bull” attitude bring me back to him time and time again. And to be honest, he’s just really fun to draw.

Console me

With so much talk about which gaming console is the best, I thought I would just diffuse the question and combine them all together.

And just for the record, I’m a Nintendo guy. I do play the X-Box 360, but mainly for Halo and a few others. But it seems my Nintendo Wii gets more play than anything. I guess it’s because the whole family plays it. I’ve owned every Nintendo system that has come out, and played through tons of games. These days however, I prefer to sit and watch my daughters play. It’s odd, my oldest is nine years old and playing the same ageless characters I played when I was her age.

Gangsta Wrap

While this image may be basic, it’s the line weight that I’m attracted to. James Taylor (not the musician) inked this piece and made it stand out a lot more than the original pencils.

Son of a Suplex

“I’m not so sure calling yourself “The Black Plague” would be appropriate.”

As a kid, I loved wrestling so much. The numerous personalities were enough to keep me coming back week after week. Macho Man. King Kong Bundy. Jake da’ Snake. The Von Erics. Captain Lou Albana. Paul Orndoff. Terry Taylor. The Road Warriors. I could go on and on, but then it would start to become creepy.

Fishin’ 4 Compliments

Poor guy. What we can’t see are the glass shattering slingshot pellets headed his way, launched by rival gang, Starkist.

I’ve done several sketches over the years of certain animal types taken out of their environment and dropped into an unfamiliar one. And while it’s not an original idea, it’s always a blast for me doing them.
